Religions have their own beliefs on certain things. Depending on the religion and the facts surrounding its inception and how it is governed, people adopt these beliefs in to their daily lives.

Buddhism

Buddhism started in Nepal in the B.C. year of 563. At the time, gambling was quite accepted in Nepal. However, in the views of Buddhism though, the same doesn’t hold up. The Tripitaka, which has over 40 volumes addressing this specific topic, has some choice words to say about gambling.

It speaks about the ability gambling to get people addicted to it. The scripture outline six specific dangers to gambling.

First of all, it states that when a person wins in gambling, it creates and brings hatred into the world. The person who loses is sad that they lost money. Gambling addicts are also often not trusted by people. These include both friends and important public officials.

The final effect that gambling has on a person is the fact that people who are addicted to gambling are not ideal marriage candidates. This is because these people are believed to not be able to support their partners.

Islam

For Islam, their holy word is the Koran. Followers believe that the Koran’s meaning is unmistakable and that their meaning is absolute.

For gambling, Islam sees it as a way for Satan to lure people away from their relationship with Allah. Iti s seen as a great sin.

Christianity

Christianity takes a broader approach to gambling. While the Bible doesn’t exactly prohibit people from gambling, it does have certain caveats for certain behaviors that come from gambling. These include such traits and behaviors such as greed, being materialistic, and being covetous.
